Poggio San Polo

Founded in 2016 in the heart of Chianti Classico, Poggio San Polo is the vision of winemaker Lorenzo Lapis, who chose to carry forward his family’s legacy on the very land they had cultivated for generations. His dream was simple yet profound: to create wines that are authentic, elegant, and deeply connected to their origins.

Our 4.5 hectares of vineyards stretch across Gaiole in Chianti and Castelnuovo Berardenga, where varied soils and microclimates give each wine its own distinct character. By farming organically, we treat the vineyard as a living ecosystem, preserving biodiversity, nurturing healthy soils, and respecting the natural balance of the land.

Every grape is harvested by hand and every step, from vineyard to cellar, is guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention. The result is wine that speaks truthfully of its place, its season, and the people who care for it. At Poggio San Polo, wine is a story of heritage, passion, and humanity captured in each bottle.

Visited with friends. A truly beautiful winery, different from the usual, perfectly integrated into the landscape and producing excellent wines. Our guide Angela was excellent in explaining everything from the soil to the finished product. Excellent tasting with a breathtaking view. We'll return with new friends!

Beautiful location, friendly and professional service, and excellent wines! Make a reservation for a tasting in advance! Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is unacceptable! Just because it's organic doesn't justify €108 for a Brunello!

Easy to find if you follow the instructions in the confirmation email. Few Italians book during this time, so there were detailed explanations and plenty of willingness to satisfy curiosity (even very technical questions, if requested; luckily, he didn't ask me 😆). Both the tour of the vineyards and the descent into the cellar, with a tasting of four excellent red wines with a generous portion of pecorino, are highly recommended.

With professionalism and elegance, Angela described the "life" of Brunello to us. ♡ The place is fantastic, vast expanses of vines with a suggestive view of the Val d'Orcia. The vineyard is marvelous and the tasting was excellent. I highly recommend it. ♡ Thank you for letting us experience this small but beautiful experience.
