Rio Maggio’s Annual Production is 100,000 Wine Bottles

Located in the picturesque Ascoli Piceno area of the Marche region, Rio Maggio is a family-owned winery run by the Santucci family in the enchanting town of Montegranaro. Nestled among rolling hills and just a few miles from the Adriatic Sea, the vineyards feature a mix of indigenous and international grape varieties. One of the estate's oldest vineyards, Contrada Vallone, was planted 35 years ago and continues to produce exceptional Ascolani DOC wines.

Fifty Years of Winemaking Tradition

Founded in the mid-1970s by Graziano Santucci, Rio Maggio reflects his deep passion for viticulture and winemaking. Graziano started with a boutique winery and passed his knowledge to his son, Simone Santucci. After Graziano's passing in 1997, Simone and his wife, Tiziana, took over the estate. They have since expanded the winery by acquiring additional vineyards in Rosso Piceno and Falerio dei Colli Ascolani, cultivating high-quality grapes such as Pecorino, Trebbiano, Verdicchio, and Passerina, along with Sangiovese and Montepulciano.

A Scenic Retreat at La Casa Nella

La Casa Nella, the resort at Rio Maggio, offers a perfect getaway surrounded by vineyards. With breathtaking views of the countryside, the resort features a spacious living room with a cozy fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a jacuzzi. This idyllic setting is ideal for wine lovers and travelers seeking relaxation and a taste of the local culture.
