Authentic Organic Wines from the Heart of Marche
Fattoria Nannì: A Commitment to Organic Winemaking
Located in the picturesque Marche region of Italy, Fattoria Nannì is renowned for its dedication to producing organic wines. Founded by Roberto Cantori, a local with deep roots in the area, the winery reflects his passion for the unique terroir and grape varieties of Marche. The estate is nestled in Arsicci, surrounded by stunning landscapes that inspire the winemaking process.
Enchanting Vineyard Landscapes
The vineyards of Fattoria Nannì are set against a backdrop of majestic mountains and historic castles, creating a truly enchanting environment. Spanning 1.3 hectares, the vineyards benefit from two distinct orientations: one facing west to east and the other north to south. The soil is primarily clayey with rocky outcrops, ideal for cultivating the local grape varieties, Verdicchio and Maceratino. In a good year, the winery produces around 2,000 bottles of organic Ribona and 8,000 bottles of Verdicchio di Castelli di Jesi Superior.
Traditional Winemaking Techniques
At Fattoria Nannì, grapes are hand-harvested at their peak ripeness and placed in perforated bins to ensure they remain cool during transport to the winery. The pressing process begins shortly after, utilizing the indigenous yeasts found on the grapes for fermentation. The timing of bottling varies based on the vintage and the winemaker's intuition. Typically, Arsicci wines are bottled between February and April of the year following the harvest, while the Origins wine is bottled in January of the second year after harvest, allowing for at least 18 months of aging.
