Cantina Terracruda-A Small Family-Run Winery in Fratte Rosa
Cantina Terracruda is a small family-run winery in Fratte Rosa, a small village in the Pesaro e Urbino countryside. The winery produces authentic and completely organic wine with local grapes and low environmental impact methods. The wine makers at Cantina Terracruda control the entire production from the vine to the bottle in keeping with the preservation of the land and the ancient varieties of vines.
Across 20 hectares of vineyards, the grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand under the guidance of oenologist Giancarlo Soverchia, guru of the rediscovery, protection and vinification of native grapes grown in purity.
Winery with Excellent Wines
The Cantina Terracruda winery produces excellent wines from only native vines from Bianchello del Metauro DOC grapes, Colli Pesaresi Sangiovese DOC and Pergola Aleatico DOC and from the recovery of ancient local vines which had almost completely disappeared, namely the Incrocio Bruni 54 and Garofanata. In 10 years the iwnery has received a number of awards in both local and international wine making competitions such as the Decanter and International Wine Challenge in London, the Concours International des Vins à Lyon and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Winery Winning One of the Most Prestigious Award
In 2016 Terracruda, during the 50th Edition of Vinitaly, was awarded by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella the “Angelo Betti, Benemeriti della Vitivinicoltura” Prize.
This prestigious award is assigned to the wineries who, with their professional or entrepreneurial activity, contributed to and sustained the qualitative progress of viticultural and enological production of their region and of their country.
