Located just 15 km from the charming town of Melnik, Rupel Winery is nestled in the picturesque hills of Struma Valley. This family-owned winery boasts stunning vineyards, a welcoming wine tasting facility with breathtaking views, and a rich natural landscape filled with mountains and meadows. Vineyards and Production

Since planting their first vines in 2004, Rupel Winery has expanded to cover 30 hectares (74 acres) of lush vineyards, producing approximately 250 tons of grapes annually. In 2015, they enhanced their operations with a modern technological facility located near the vineyards, streamlining the transport process and ensuring high-quality production. The winery is equipped with a nitrogen production machine, which connects to all fermentation vessels, maintaining the integrity of their wines.

Wine Tours and Tastings

Rupel Winery offers engaging tours and complimentary tastings of their diverse wine selection. Visitors can enjoy tastings with or without meals, participate in wine training sessions, and join in team-building activities or special events. The winery also invites guests to take part in the grape growing process, find serene spots for relaxation and picnicking, and celebrate traditional events like Trifon Zarezan and Grape Harvesting.

My husband is an amateur, I am a fan, but we are both connoisseurs of good wine 🍷 S. Dolno Spanchevo. Elena greeted us. At first glance, a saleswoman in a wine shop. However, he turned out to be a wonderful guide and storyteller. Everything here is authentic, fabulous and with history. I regret that I cannot retell what I learned today, from harvest to wine at our tables. An excellent process! But this only makes me appreciate the quality wines and the work of the people behind all this magic even more! Amazing place, incredible beauty. There are places to see and feel. At least 300 hectares of vineyards with different grape varieties. Actually, we were here to see it, but we tasted and left with more than a dozen bottles of unique wines and rosettes, Ruby, Mill 55, Wide Mill and more...🍇

We stopped by the winery for a visit and wine tasting with only a 30 minute notice because we hadn’t planned it at all and the staff welcomed us even if it was an intense period! We tasted five wines that we could choose ourselves, accompanied by bread and cheese. The woman who presented everything to us was wonderful, we could tell she loves her job. Great experience !

I have visited many wineries around the world but this was my first in my home country, and I was really impressed with the beauty of Melnik wine country and Rupel winery. The views from the cellar door are stunning, our guide to the winery production facilities was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we were personally met by the owners Pavel and Anita who were very kind and patient in accommodating our late arrival and generously shared their stories and passion for wine: a rare privilege that is hard to experience elsewhere. The wines we tasted were all excellent and a great value-for-money, and paired with a delightful charcuterie and fruit board.
