A Family-Owned Winery Crafting Limited-Edition Wines in Napa Valley
Spoto Family Winery: A Hidden Gem in Napa Valley
Located in Sacramento, California, Spoto Family Wines is an ultra-boutique winery nestled in the heart of Napa Valley. With an annual production of just 500 cases, each bottle is meticulously crafted by hand using the finest grapes sourced from the renowned Oakville appellation.
Bordeaux-Inspired Wine Styles
Winemaker Stuart Spoto specializes in Bordeaux-style blends, featuring varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec. The winery also produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Viognier. The Spoto family's winemaking legacy began with Stuart's grandfather, who immigrated from Sicily in 1913. His son, Henry Spoto, Jr., started winemaking as a hobby, which eventually inspired Stuart to pursue the craft more seriously. After years of study and practice, they began crafting their own vintages in 2000.
A Family Tradition of Quality
In 2004, Henry and Stuart established Spoto Family Wines, becoming the first bonded winery in Sacramento County. Today, the entire Spoto family, including Stuart's wife Christy and daughters Arianna and Alexi, plays an active role in the winery. Their commitment to quality and attention to detail ensures that each wine reflects their passion for viticulture.
The Spoto family is dedicated to producing exceptional small-production Oakville wines that capture the essence of Napa Valley.
