Spoto Family winery: in the heart of Napa Valley
Spoto Family Wines is an ultra-boutique winery in Sacramento, California in the heart of the Napa Valley. The winery only produces 500 cases of wine per year, carefully crafted by hand. This extremely limited production begins with the best grapes from the Oakville appellation.
Discover great Bordeaux inspired wine styles
The vintner, Stuart Spoto makes primarily Bordeaux-style blends (from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec) as well as other varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Viognier. The family-owned and run Spoto Family Wines has a multi-generational history. Stuart’s grandfather first immigrated from Sicily to Northern California at the age of 15 in 1913 where he grew fruit and nut trees. His son, Henry Spoto, Jr. first ventured into winemaking as a hobby, using grapes from his own property. His son, Stuart, soon expressed interest in making wine, and encouraged his father to focus on the craft. The pair dove deeper into the process and spent years of dedicated study and practice. By 2000, they began making their own vintages.
Following a deep passion for viticulture
In 2004, Henry and Stuart opened Spoto Family Wines, the first bonded winery in Sacramento county. Today, the whole family from Stuart’s wife Christy to his two daughters Arianna and Alexi are involved in the winery. Their exclusive wines are made with a deep passion for viticulture and the utmost attention to detail.
The Spoto family is dedicated to producing the highest quality small-production Oakville wines which are a true taste of the Napa Valley
