The Lageder family prioritizes sustainability and opposes fossil fuels. Established in 1823, the winery is now managed by the sixth generation, Alois Clemens Lageder. The winery building, renovated in 1995, showcases sustainable construction using eco-friendly materials. It operates entirely on solar, water, and geothermal energy, positioning Tenuta Alois Lageder as a leader in environmental responsibility in Alto Adige.
The Lageder family's winemaking heritage dates back to 1823 when Johann Lageder began as a wine merchant in Bolzano. Over the years, the family expanded their vineyards and production. In the mid-1970s, Alois IV, along with his sister and oenologist Luis von Dellemann, focused on enhancing quality and innovation in both the vineyard and cellar. Today, the winery cultivates 50 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards, continuing a rich tradition of excellence in winemaking.

We were personally treated to a tasting by the owner of the winery, who took an incredible amount of time to introduce us to the different wines and explain how the winery works, even though he couldn't sell us any wine that day and was actually closed...

Great wine tasting with detailed information about the winery. A comprehensive and excellent explanation and open to discussions about the different wines. With a test of how blending wines from different stages of maturity can affect the wine. The explanations from the employee were very committed and showed a lot of love for the winery.

The tour "A journey through our farm organism" flew by on the beautiful grounds. You couldn't stop looking, discovering and listening. Every question was answered patiently and understandably. During the tasting of 6 wines, we were also spontaneously offered older vintages, which impressively demonstrated the enormous ageing potential of the biodynamically produced wines. For me as a wine lover, this would be a dream workplace. Thank you very much for this long-lasting experience!

We did the tour at Alois Lageder and it was truly one of the best tours I’ve ever done at a winery. We felt very welcomed by our tour guide and he told us all about the history, the vision on winemaking of the Lageder family and the winkemaking process while guiding us through the estate, vineyard and cellars. Of course also had a great tasting afterwards. Definitely worth a visit and if you have the time, do the tour!
