International flavour at Tenuta Casadei
Tenuta Casadei is a Bio-Integral wine-producing company whose agronomic philosophy implies a new concept of ethical agriculture. They consider environmental protection to be an essential prerequisite for the future. Wines from the 16 hectares of the Property don’t follow trends, they take root in international winemaking traditions. The international blend of the wines owes to the fact it is run by a Californian and a Tuscan. All the vineyards are well-groomed and taken care of like children.
Impressive natural conditions in Upper Maremma
The estate aims to make international wines in Upper Maremma, a place that has special climatic and geological conditions. Stefano Casadei studied the terroir and soil here before deciding to explore it’s potential and plant vines here. The vines are surrounded by century-old trees, wild olives, maritime pines, and picturesque hills. International grape varieties like Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache are grown here and used to make their award-winning Suvereto DOCG red and white wines.
A proper international winery
Making wines from international grape varieties is their objective, and these wines express the features and qualities of the land as well as their winemaking techniques. Only the best grapes reach the cellar and undergo vinification under the best conditions. They follow the Bio-Integral protocol and have great respect for nature. The use of draft horses Ursula and Ulisse helps protect the soil too. The wines rightly reflect the taste of authentic Tuscany, and you can visit for tastings.
