Terre del Barolo: Crafting Exceptional Barolo Wines

Located in Castiglione Falletto, Piedmont, Terre del Barolo is a cooperative winery formed by over 300 dedicated members. With vineyards spanning approximately 650 hectares across various Barolo villages, this winery is committed to producing high-quality Barolo wines. Each member of the Terre del Barolo family passionately cultivates the land, nurturing it with care and a deep appreciation for winemaking.

A Successful Cooperative Story

The story of Terre del Barolo began in the late 20th century when Arnaldo Rivera, a teacher and mayor of Castiglione Falletto, gathered a group of 21 local grape growers. Over the years, the cooperative expanded significantly, acquiring more land and modernizing its facilities. Today, the winery cultivates a diverse range of grapes, including Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Arneis, alongside Gavi, Favorita, and Chardonnay. By selecting the finest grapes, Terre del Barolo produces a variety of high-quality red and white wines, as well as delightful dessert wines and vintage sparkling wines, all within the Barolo DOC and DOCG regions.

State-of-the-Art Technology at Terre del Barolo

In 2017, the winery underwent a significant renovation as part of the Arnaldo Rivera project. The updated facility now features micro fermenters, French oak barrels ranging from 500 to 700 liters, and larger 25 and 50 hectoliter barrels, equipped with advanced tools to enhance wine quality. This blend of traditional methods and innovative techniques ensures that Terre del Barolo continues to produce exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Barolo region.

A very beautiful, newly renovated winery. A lovely shop with tasting options. For 12 euros, I can taste three wines of my choice. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to explain everything. The selection is very extensive, as it's a cooperative of various wineries.

A good producer of Barolo and other Piedmontese wines. We visited last Friday for the first time, but we have known the wines from Terre Del Barolo for many years and always like them. We like the Barolos, especially Rocche di Castiglione Riserva, and Barolo Ravera, which are very balanced and the price in the shop is reasonable. Since we know these wines well, we can say that the quality is very consistent and stable (we have never had a problem). What we thought was really cool was the Limited Edition OHK with 6 Barolos (1 per municipality, see photo). This edition is a homage to Arnaldo Rivera and the promotional price of 280 euros that we paid was more than OK and fair (the wines just need to be stored for a couple more years as they are still very young). The shop is very nice, large and modern (we really liked it). The entire customer service team was incredibly friendly, accommodating and keen to do their best to create an experience for us (we even got a short tour of the cantina even though we weren't even registered). We can highly recommend Terre Del Barolo to anyone looking for good wines at a fair price. Thank you very much, dear Terre Del Barolo team, the visit to your wine shop was really fun and we will definitely come back in the spring.
