The Best of the Terroir Under Thomas George Estate Winery

Thomas George, named the greatest Pinot Noir in town, is located between vine-covered hills with spectacular views from every angle. This winery was founded in 2008 when Tom Baker purchased the Russian River Valley wine pioneer Davis Bynum's winery and vineyard. The winery, which was originally a hop kiln transformed into a winery by Davis Bynum in the 1920s, was renovated into a modern, state-of-the-art winemaking facility, and the winery tasting room, houses, and grounds were improved. All of this was accomplished while honoring the Russian River Valley's history and character, as well as Davis Bynum's legacy.

We came here for a beautiful wine tasting and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The space, outdoors and indoors, is beautiful. We did the premium tasting, and they added a few wines that we really wanted to try. Great service and a delicious pizza added to the experience. I will for sure try and buy their wines, though it seems a bit difficult in Europe. Also, will be back!

We visited and experienced the most fantastic tasting and experience this past weekend. We learned so much about the wine making process through knowledgeable staff. Our tasting was fantastic- we are newbies to the world of wine and feel everything was presented and explained to us in a way that not only taught, but also encouraged! Though it rained most of the weekend, the sun came out just long enough for us to go view the vineyards which created the most breathtaking backdrop for my (now) fiance to propose. It truly was a magical time and can honestly say it was the perfect place to have created such a core memory for us.

This spectacular wine cave tasting Thomas George Estates was the highlight of our day. They truly have some of the finest wines in the Russian River Valley. Thomas George Estate offers a variety of curated food and tasting experiences. Our cave tasting included 6 wines served with delicious pizzas made in-house. Special thanks to Justin for providing first class service as he was guiding us through our single vineyard cave tasting. If you’re planning a trip to Healdsburg, you must visit Thomas George Estates !

We had an awesome experience at Thomas George this past Friday. I’m assuming visiting on a weekday made it a little less crowded, which I personally appreciate. The pizzas that came with our tasting were delicious! Leo, who was in charge of us, was extremely knowledgeable and was great at conveying his expertise in a very digestible manner. I will definitely be returning next time we do another wine tasting weekend. They definitely earned a spot on my “must try” list of wineries in Sonoma.

It is a beautiful place to visit! I was looking for a dog friendly and picturesque winery. I am very picky where I spend my time and if I don't feel welcomed and comfortable I just leave. I drove through a beautiful driveway which was surrounded by beautiful trees and saw a green lawn with roses, round guest tables and umbrellas. Each table had beautiful mini flower centerpieces, stainless steel wine buckets for ice and your choice of white wine. I saw a staff member walking with a small rustic pizza and I said, "that looks good!" I asked the staff member if the place is dog friendly and walk ins are OK. He was very friendly and said yes and explained how things work in the winery. I headed inside the tasting room and Justin greeted me at the counter. I loved the beautiful ambiance of the tasting room and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Justin knew a lot about wine and explained the subtle details about each white wine I tasted. I ordered a mushroom pizza. My little furry friend/dog was also welcomed and felt peaceful and calm while I was tasting wine. Once I was done with my tasting I got my pizza order set on the patio table outside. I smelled beautiful roses, my dog loved the lawn and pizza was very good! I also went to the wine cave/cellar which is a beautiful venue with rustic wood tables, leather couches, wine barrels and beautiful ambiance. The coolness of the cave is soothing on a hot day and it felt so good! I loved the quality glassware set up on the tables tastefully and I would host a wedding, an anniversary, bridal shower or a birthday party here! The wine is delicious, the ambiance is gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and warm. Five stars!
