Twisted Oak Winery is nestled just 5 miles southwest of Murphy’s historic gold camp in the scenic Sierra Foothills of California. This unique winery is situated on a former gold mine, adding a rich history to its charm. Founded by Jeff Sai, the winery came to life after he and his wife fell in love with the area during a vacation and decided to make it their own.

Unique Wines with a Playful Spirit

Jeff personally planted the vineyard and established the winery, producing its first wines in 2002. To add a touch of whimsy, he and his wife created the fictional Rubber Chicken National Forest, where visitors can spot rubber chickens adorning trees along the routes leading to the winery.

The wines at Twisted Oak Winery are known for their quirky names, reflecting Jeff’s playful personality. One standout is the Potty Mouth, which showcases his humorous approach to winemaking. Despite the lighthearted branding, Jeff is committed to crafting wines that are both expressive and representative of the vineyard's terroir.

Our second time out here in the last couple of years. One of two wineries that were open in the area on Tuesday & Wednesday. It is family friendly, kids were able to do a short hike down the hill. Their white wine is very good. Love their cute furry friends. Will keep coming back.

We had lovely time. Unfortunately, they are phasing out the fun merchandise. Wine was nice. There is a special discount for WorldMark resort, which was also nice. The lady helping us was amazing. Overall - good time investment.

We used this place as our first ever harvest host. It set the standard. We got there and checked in and immediately did a tasting. There were enough wines in the tasting to make me forget how many we tasted. Ire our bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. After they closed for the evening, we had our dinner with an amazing view. Then we ran into Tyler, the wine maker. He was one of the friendliest people we have met. He gave us a full breakdown of the wine making process and even gave us a tour around the property and through the grapes. It was a great experience. Whatever they're paying Tyler, it isn't enough. If we are ever back in the area we will absolutely be coming back to Twisted Oak.

The winery was nice and quit. The view was beautiful, and the wine is great.. The rubber chickens on the way in were funny as they appeared to be hanging out through out the property.
