The winery covers an area of about 14 hectares. Now, it extends over three appellations – Cotes de Castillon, Cotes de Francs and Saint Emilion. The winery has a good diversity of soils that include clay-limestone with rocky subsoil and clay-limestone with deep clay.
Excellent Wines from a Blend of Traditional and Modern Winemaking Methods
The primary grape varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, they age wines for many years to extract their richness and taste. The average vine density is 3000 to 5000 per hectare. Therefore, Vines undergo single and double cane pruning and debudding in the spring. Winemakers at the Earl Christophe Et Marie Jo Lavau winery pay extra attention to the excellence on the quality. Both traditional and modern winemaking techniques are combined for an incredible outcome.
