Villa Santo Stefano, a Wine That Justice to the Beautiful Landscape of Lucca

Villa Santo Stefano is a boutique winery situated among the fantastic and beautiful rolling hills of Lucca in Tuscany. The owners of the winery Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge, bought the estate in 2001 and renamed it. They welcome guests to share the love and passion of Tuscany with them through their wines and extra virgin olive oil along with the beautiful landscape of the region. Currently, the estate owns 11 hectares of vineyards and use exclusively-grown grapes to make around 30,000 bottles of wine and 2500 liters of olive oil every year.

No Compromise in the Quality of Their Wines

Earlier, the plan was to build a holiday resort here as the hilly location of the estate featured stunning views of the countryside and the nearby sea. However, the owner took the advice and help of trained experts to start viticulture and olive oil production. Famous enologist Antonio Spurio was instrumental in expanding the vineyards. He looks after everything from soil preparation, planting of vines, grape selection, harvesting, pressing, and further vinification of grapes in the wine cellar. Every step is taken carefully so that there is no compromise in the quality of their wines.

Tuscan Terroir in Every Drop of Their Wine

Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Vermentino are the grapes grown here and used for making red, white, and rose wines. Since 2006, the company produces four distinct wines: two reds Loto and Sereno, white wine Gioia, and the Luna rose wine. The company’s Vino Rosso DOC and Vino Bianco and Vino Rosato IGT are also famous and rightly reflect the quality of the Tuscan terroir.
