Unique Vineyard Practices

The main vineyard at Antico Borgo di Sugame is around 28 years old, with newer plantings that are six and seven years old. In 2005, the estate expanded by adding another hectare of vines. Instead of traditional poles, maple trees support the vines, creating a harmonious environment where olive trees also thrive. This thoughtful arrangement allows for the cultivation of grains and vegetables between the vine rows.

With nearly five hectares of vineyards, two hectares of olive trees, and 28 hectares of woodland, the estate boasts a diverse landscape. The vineyards face southwest at an altitude of 500 meters, benefiting from sandy-lime soil with a touch of clay, ideal for grape growing.

Lorenzo, the family patriarch, passionately cultivates the vines and produces organic Tuscan wines. The estate's offerings include the Antico Borgo di Sugame Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, IGT Rossi Toscana, IGT Rosato Toscana, and Toscana Rosso IGT Merlot. Each wine reflects the unique terroir of the region and the family's dedication to quality.
