The story of Maremma wines

The Azienda Agraria Santa Lucia winery story started in 1980 when Luciano brought the first harvest in the bottle. Santa Lucia is located on a hill, the facility is designed to be functional, practical, and energy-efficient. The winery is almost entirely underground. This results in less impact on the landscape and less energy are required to manage temperatures.

With a tall rooftop to watch over the surrounding vineyards, and big windows to enjoy the beautiful views, the winery nestles comfortably in its private valley surrounded by Olive trees and rolling vineyards.

Award winning wines

The winery went on a major overhaul in 2010, with the completion of the new cellar and the use of state of art technologies in vineyards and cellar both, the company was able to enhance the quality of wine and winemaking techniques. The vineyard is spread across 40 hectares producing Sangiovese, Morellino, Vermentino, Ansonica, Alicante, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The winery produces 11 different wines with an annual production of 160,000 bottles. The winery puts on immense love and passion into the work every day to guarantee quality bottles of wine with the essence of the Tuscan Maremma.

Life is too short to drink bad wines

The winery still produces wines exclusively from its own predominantly indigenous vineyards since its foundation. The winery’s philosophy revolves around producing individual wines with utmost care. The quality begins with preparing the soil, followed by the selection, reproduction, and planting of the best clones using a bio-dynamic approach in the fields. They use French oak Allier, TronÇais barrels, the abolition of stabilization, and filtration to get the best out of the grapes. The wines are typical, recognizable, and well-structured with a mature and fruity taste.
