Dotted by the magnificent hills of Monferrato, the Cascina Cappelle winery is situated on the Sacro Monte devoted to Saint Anthony of Padua, Piedmont. Charmed by the mesmerizing landscapes, the winery has evolved with the hard work and immense efforts of the Tartaglino family. The winemaking family delivers only excellent quality wines made within the finest appellations of the Monferrato region.
The winemaking story of Cascina Cappelle was started in 1890 by the Tartaglino family. Today, with immense respect and love for family tradition, the sixth generation of the family is managing the administration of the Cascina Cappelle estate. They pay attention even to the smallest details of their work to deliver the finest quality wines and to keep the organoleptic characteristics intact. The Tartaglino family believes in traditional methods of viticulture, for example, manual picking of grapes, followed by soft manual pressing.
Paying complete respect to mother nature and its surrounding countryside, the vineyards are cultivated with a wide range of grapes using conventional methods of viticulture. The owner grows fruity Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, and Nebbiolo, together with top-class Cabernet, Merlot, Freisa, Croatina, and Bonarda. During harvest, these vines are handpicked and delivered to cellar for fermentation in the stainless steel tanks. At Cascina Cappelle, the owner produces rich-quality red, white, and dessert wines, paired with top-notch sparkling and fortified wines, all under the finest DOC and DOCG labels. All these precious wines reside in wooden oak barrels for productive aging and refinement.
