Exceptional Limited Production Wines from Imereti
The Winery
Founded in 1923 by our grandfather, Baghdati Estate is a family-owned vineyard nestled in one of the finest micro-zones of Baghdati, located in the Imereti region of Georgia. Our vineyard spans 0.2 hectares on the North-East slope of the left bank of the Khanistskali River, benefiting from the region's unique terroir.
Winemaking at the Estates
Since 2009, we have adhered to organic farming practices, producing a limited quantity of just 1,500 bottles each year. Our wines include white, rosé, and red varieties made from endemic Imeretian grapes such as Tsolikouri, Tsitska, Krakhuna, Dzelshavi, and Otskhanuri sapere. Each wine is crafted using the traditional Imeretian method, which involves partial skin contact and aging in century-old Kvevri. We utilize only free-run juice from carefully selected grapes, allowing wild yeast to ferment without additives, filtration, or added sulfites. The result is a vibrant, living wine that showcases the authentic character of Western Georgia.
