Bellaguardia: A Historic Winery with a View

Located in Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza, Bellaguardia Winery sits beneath the enchanting castles of Romeo and Giulietta. Founded by Isidoro Maccagnan and Marco Caltran, this winery has deep roots in family tradition. Marco’s father acquired the land in the 1980s to produce wine for their family. The stunning Villa and castles, built in 1354 by Cangrande II of Verona, create a picturesque backdrop. While Giulietta’s castle serves as a restaurant, Romeo’s castle hosts various cultural events, enriching the local heritage.

Bellaguardia is renowned for its exquisite sparkling wines, crafted from grapes grown in ideal conditions. The region's unique carbonate-rich soil, combined with cool nights and fresh air, nurtures ripe, flavorful grapes. The winery spans 6 hectares, utilizing the Trentino pergola method to optimize grape growth and quality.

Sustainable Winemaking Practices
