The Growing Success of Bodega Y Enoteca Qubél
The Winery and Enoteca Qubél is a family-run company founded in 2000. The family holds the ownership of the vineyards and winery. Their focus is to bottle a limited quantity of high-quality wines from traditional Spanish grapes, which meet European Union organic viticulture and production standards. Their wines fall under the classification of D.O. Madrid. The wines are produced taking meticulous care of all stages of the transformation, explicitly avoiding any resemblance of “manufacturing” wine. Carlos Gosálbez undertakes the management of the vineyards and the winemaking. All activities on their estate are organic and sustainable to protect nature and their farm.
The Ideal Terroir of the Winery
Their vineyard, Gosalbez-Orti, is located in the Campo Real region of Madrid. The natural conditions such as temperature, sunshine, rainfall, and soil are perfect in this region for the growth and cultivation of vines. The main varieties of grapes that they grow are Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvar, and Sauvignon Blanc. The best and most concentrated grapes go into the production of their award-winning red and white wines.
The winery is equipped with all the modern facilities, and the wines are matured in oak barrels to develop great spicy flavors.
The Creation of the Qubél Wine Center
In 2018, they consolidated their wine training offerings by creating QWC – Qubél Wine Center – and becoming a WSET Approved Program Provider. This educational program is very selectively taught in 70 countries, and its diplomas and qualifications are internationally recognized.
