A Legacy of Winemaking in Murcia
Founded by Ramón Castaño Santa in 1950, Bodegas Castaño has a rich history rooted in the art of winemaking. As a pioneer in utilizing the Monastrell grape, Ramón expanded the family legacy by acquiring new vineyard sites. With the involvement of his three children—Ramón, Juan Pedro, and Daniel—innovation flourished, leading to the winery's growth in international markets.
Exceptional Vines of Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera
The vineyards thrive in the poor limestone soils of Yecla, where dry-farmed Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera flourish. In addition to these native varieties, the winery cultivates international red grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot, along with smaller quantities of white grapes such as Macabeo and Chardonnay. Our manual harvest process ensures that the grapes arrive at the winery in optimal condition, enhancing the quality of our wines.
Quality Wines from Yecla's Vineyards
Bodegas Castaño's vineyards span nearly 500 hectares in Yecla, featuring two winemaking cellars, an underground oak barrel-aging cellar, and a dedicated warehouse for wine bottle maturation. We prioritize every detail, maintaining ideal temperature and humidity conditions to ensure our wines reach their full potential before being released to the public.
