Bodegas Fernandez Winery: A Legacy Since 1920

Located in the heart of Jumilla, Bodegas Fernandez has been a cornerstone of Spanish winemaking since its establishment in 1920. Now managed by the third generation of the Fernandez family, the winery began its journey at La Jimena before relocating to Jumilla in 1946. In 1974, they upgraded to a modern facility on Murcia Avenue, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for producing exceptional wines.
Committed to sustainability, Bodegas Fernandez employs organic and ecological methods to protect the environment throughout their winemaking process.
The winery benefits from the region's ideal climate and soil, which are perfect for vine cultivation. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and rich wildlife, Bodegas Fernandez is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Grapes Grown at Bodegas Fernandez

Bodegas Fernandez produces wines under several labels, including Campolargo, Perla Real, Escudo de Plata, Vega Jimena, and Campoclaro. Their wines are enjoyed worldwide, with exports reaching the United States, Canada, China, and Switzerland. The grape harvest typically occurs in September and October, focusing on varieties such as Monastrell, Merlot, Syrah, Garnacha, Airen, and Tempranillo. Only the finest grapes are selected for their premium red, white, and rosé wines.

Aging Process in Oak Barrels

To maintain high standards, Bodegas Fernandez continually modernizes its facilities. Their bottling plant allows for efficient production, while the underground wine cellar houses 800 oak barrels for aging. Additionally, stainless steel tanks enhance production capacity and contribute to the wines' delightful aromas and flavors.
