Cantina Gattavecchi is a historic winery located in the heart of Tuscany's Montepulciano region, proudly operated by the Gattavecchi family for four generations. Founded by Vincenzo Gattavecchi, the winery faced challenges during World War II but was revitalized in the late 1940s by Valente Gattavecchi and his mother, Sidonia. In 1958, the family expanded by acquiring the Simoneschi-Baroncelli winery, creating a unique environment for winemaking.

The Montepulciano region boasts an exceptional terroir, with ideal soil, microclimate, and rainfall for vine cultivation. The vineyards at Le Caggiole, Cervognano, and Argiano primarily grow Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile grapes. Skilled workers handpick the finest grapes to produce their esteemed Montepulciano DOCG wines, with vinification taking place in the winery's historic cellar.

The cellar features underground rooms and caves adjacent to the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi, where wines age for two years before release. The upper floor includes a terrace that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
