Wine Production from the Heart of the Classic Valpolicella Area

Cantina Valpolicella Negrar was established on August 23, 1933, in Villa Mosconi, Arbizzano di Negrar, by six local men who formed a cooperative to protect their land from speculative investments. Just two years later, in 1935, the winery received special recognition at the Universal Exposition in Brussels. In 1948, it relocated to San Vito di Negrar and merged with Cantina Produttori della Valpolicella. Today, this cooperative boasts 230 members who cultivate over 700 hectares of vineyards, primarily within the Valpolicella Classico zone.

A Range of Valpolicella’s Labels Made in the Winery

Cantina Valpolicella Negrar is renowned for its Valpolicella Classico and Amarone della Valpolicella Classico wines, offering a variety of labels. The Valpolicella Classico hills, characterized by lush woodlands and marble quarries, provide the perfect environment for the local grape varieties. Grapes are hand-harvested and dried in spacious warehouses for approximately three months. The winery's flagship labels, Cantina di Negrar and Le Preare, produce a Valpolicella, a Ripasso, and an Amarone that reflect the region's rich heritage. Notably, the 2001 vintage Recioto Vigneti di Moron became the first Recioto from a cooperative winery to earn the prestigious Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) in Gambero Rosso’s Guide to Italian Wines in 2004.

The Gift of Ancestors for the Future

Generations of dedicated winegrowers in Valpolicella have nurtured their vineyards, passing down the region's culture and history. The quality of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar’s wines stems from sustainable viticulture practices that balance economic viability with environmental respect. The winery is committed to using modern technology to ensure high-quality wines at accessible prices while preserving the land's legacy.
