It was a pleasant experience in this winery. We had the opportunity to visit both the vineyard, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake, and to see the production. The experience ended, in our case, with the tasting of a pair of glasses each and the extra virgin olive oil, also good. A different and valuable experience, especially because the cellar is family-run and authenticity is perceived in the work.

I recently visited this winery through a Smartbox that was given to me as a gift. I must say that the staff was very friendly and prepared. “Cantine Capitani” is a wine company based in Trevignano Romano, Italy. Founded in 1974 as “Trevignano Vino”, the company has a long history of growing traditional Italian grape varieties such as Trebbiano, Greco, Malvasia, Sangiovese and Montepulciano. Their first wines, still produced today, include “LacusTre Bianco”, a blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia, and “LacusTre Rosso”, a blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano, as well as a rosé made from Sangiovese grapes. Over the years, Cantine Capitani has expanded its wine offering to include international varieties such as Merlot and Syrah, which have proven particularly suited to the local volcanic soil. They also introduced international white wines such as Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Viognier, and rediscovered native varieties such as Cesanese d'Affile. In 2015 the company decided to adopt the name "Cantine Capitani", in honor of the Capitani family, who have always firmly believed in the winemaking potential of their land. Wine production takes place in a large warehouse located on the hills overlooking Lake Bracciano, where the company organizes guided tours and tastings. On the Cantine Capitani website you will also find a point of sale where customers can purchase a selection of artisanal and local products, as well as the company's wines. The company is committed to providing quality customer service, giving customers the opportunity to purchase wines directly at the point of sale. Finally, the company's opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Definitely recommended.

What can I say...a small business located in a magnificent place, discovered by pure chance thanks to a gift box. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, who explained to us in detail the hard work that goes into making the wine that they then let you taste. We tasted a red and a white, one better than the other, accompanied by an excellent platter of local specialties. I highly recommend visiting this winery, truly a pleasant discovery. We will definitely be back for other events. Thanks for the beautiful morning spent together!
