In the early 1980s, Piero Costantini purchased the vineyards that once belonged to Cardinal Pallotta in the municipality of Monteporzio Catone, in the heart of the Frascati winemaking tradition, with the aim of producing a highly prestigious wine capable of competing with the greatest winemakers of the north.

The path taken was long and difficult, undermined by the temptation of an easy but sure-fire market.

The first step was to replant new vineyards, introducing minor varieties such as Malvasia del Lazio, at the expense of the more productive but significantly inferior quality ones, cultivating them using espalier systems with short pruning to drastically reduce their productivity.

Today, the company is owned by Lorenzo Costantini, a renowned winemaker and a passionate enthusiast of Lazio wines. Lorenzo believes in Frascati and its tremendous potential.

Lorenzo believes that the soil of the Laziale Volcano makes the wines produced in this area unique and that the climate favors the perfect ripening of the grapes.

This afternoon we did a wine tasting here. It was a great experience. They only do private tours, which makes it super personal. Sarah was the host, super sweet woman who could explain everything very well. Definitely worth every penny and recommended!

Absolutely a wonderful and personal experience. Went for our Honeymoon and Sara was so wonderful and knowledgeable. This place has such a historic and beautiful view, with an eclectic mix of wines. Could have not asked for a better experience and highly highly suggest it to those who love wine and history.
