Carpineto- Winery Producing Best Chianti Wines
The story of Carpineto winery began in 1967 by the joint efforts of Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo. The duo set a goal to make their Chianti Classico DOCG wines well-famous around the globe, and they did it.
Over the years, they got numerous awards and recognitions by the wine critics for their flagship red wines.
With the help of their families, Carlo and Mario kept the traditional winemaking methods alive, combined with innovative and state-of-the-art processes. Today, 95% of the wine production is red wines, along with the rest of the wines include luscious white, rose, dessert, and sparkling wines, all made under the Toscana IGT and Chianti DOCG statuses.
Expansion of the Winery
At present, the second generation has joined the duo and is staying true to the vocation by following their fathers’ footsteps. Carpineto owns a land of around 440 hectares in which they take care of olive groves, along with rows of vines. They have expanded the scope of the company by modernizing viticulture and wine production practices in five estates in Dudda, Gaville, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Gavorrano.
With complete respect for the ecosystem and great passion, the owners use sustainable methods of viticulture in the vineyards. They grow an extensive range of grapes, including top-class Grechetto, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, paired with Malvasia, Sangiovese, and Canaiolo. Some parts of the viticulture land are dedicated to fruity Colorino, Sangiovese Grosso, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The vines express the essence of the territory in which they are grown.
