A Historic Winery in the Heart of Vinho Verde
The Castle of Vila Boa
Casa de Vila Boa, located in Vila Boa de Quires within the Marco de Canavezes region, stands as one of the most remarkable manor houses in Portugal. Its striking façade and impressive tower give it a fortress-like appearance. This historic estate, belonging to the Albuquerque de Vasconcelos Lencastre family, dates back to at least the 14th century, as confirmed by various historical documents. The castle has remained in the same family since its inception, showcasing Baroque architectural elements, including an unfinished manor house constructed in the mid-17th century by António de Vasconcelos Carvalho e Menezes.
