Casanova di Neri

Excellent!!!!

It's December but it's still worth a visit. It shouldn't be missed, especially for those Casanova di Neri fans who never had the chance to meet 'Giovanni Neri'. I've always wondered what makes Giacomo's Brunello so different from the others, and now I can understand a little bit more, leaving so many expectations for the wines of the future. Take a bus from Florence to Siena, and a taxi from Siena to the winery costs between 8 and 90 Euros each way. Koreans, take note!

A unique experience. Simply magnificent!

We were warmly greeted as we entered and shown to a private tasting room. Entrance was through a secret door. Fun! The tasting room has a nice view of the property and it was spacious. We had a wine tasting for our group at this winery on a weekday. The presentation was very informative about their many vineyards and the hostess spoke excellent English. Really like their brunello wines. The Rosso was good too. We ordered a case to be shipped home.

I have been drinking their wine for the last few years in Singapore. While in Italy, I noticed that they were an hour away from my hotel. Was lucky to get a lunch and tasting reservation last minute. We started with lunch. Both the quality of service and food were excellent. I had the Zucchini Balls and Lamb Chops. Both were very flavorful and went well with their Brunello. Our server, I think her name is Leticia, was very friendly, knowledgeable and well spoken. The tasting was amazing, we tried 8 or 9 wines and picked up a couple of bottles. Overall, this is my favourites Brunello and I am glad I could experience the winery.

Wasn't able to book the wine experience, so just went with the wine shop tasting. The shop was pretty crowded, so not really great experience, but the wines were outstanding! Almost all of them really impressed me. The winery itself is also quite beautiful, and I really liked the premium Spiegelau Definition glasses for tasting.

Great experience and wines in casanova di neri. Wines are very nicely dine and truly one of a kind. Staff was amazing and very knowledgeable of every aspect of the wine making. A place to stop for sure before heading into montalcino.

This review is about the visit to the company, its wonderful recently renovated relais, the lunch and the tasting of their excellent wines. We are on the hills of Montalcino from which you can admire a glimpse of the town, in a true green oasis, immersed in vineyards and the woods of the property with an adjoining truffle ground. We were welcomed warmly and affectionately by Mr. Giacomo Neri, his family and all the staff. Everything is perfect, nothing is left to chance in full respect of the territory and nature. The Relais is of the highest level and consists of nine apartments, including rooms and suites, each furnished impeccably and with great taste and attention. The cosmetic products, soaps and perfumes in the bathrooms and in the accommodations are all produced by them with materials coming from the agricultural and wine-making activity of the family. Lunch is also noteworthy both for the quality of the raw materials used and for the skill and creativity of the young Alessio and for the attention and professionalism of Massimiliano the dining room manager. To accompany the dishes, taste an elegant and surprising Rosso di Montalcino 2021 "Giovanni Neri" (far superior to many Brunellos) and a true Brunello di Breed "Tenuta Nuova 2017" with excellent structure, great power and a pleasant saline note. Also noteworthy are the beautiful rooms used for the sale of wines where a beautiful onyx counter stands out and for wine tasting. As I said at the beginning, in the Casanova dei Neri Company nothing is left to chance. Sincere compliments and thanks to the entire Neri family and their splendid staff.

Gorgeous winery, one of Italy’s top small producers of some of the best 100 point wines! Amazing wine tasting experience, try to get the special hidden back room, especially if you’re with a group who likes top wines. This way you get to take your time and enjoy some of the best tasting wine you’ve ever had. It’s a beautiful winery, gorgeous views. A great place to visit if you want to get a feel of a true top winery in Tuscany.

In the heart of the Tuscan hills, an enchanting place, well-kept and elegant, full of history, passion, love for its land; I did a tasting here with a friend of mine and here we nourished our senses enchanted by the scent, the taste of unique wines; Simona cradled our curiosity, with a professionalism and a priceless welcome... we left leaving a piece of our heart, sure of having visited an excellent cellar, full of that wine that brought Montalcino to the world. But what a winery!?!?!?!?!??? One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited!!! No frills, no trinkets and no words... the facts speak for themselves... genuineness, real life and above all sincerity in the product: THE WINE!!! I recommend it to anyone who wants to understand what "working well" means!!! Visited a few days ago (April 2023) you are greeted by a splendid wisteria in bloom... everything captures you! You will be confused by everything that is shown to your eyes: the colors, the hills, the scents, a Montalcino with its bell towers, every detail welcomes you... You cross the door and... struck and sunk!!! You are in a magical place... Personally, Simona ferried me into this magical world, who conveyed to me the enthusiasm of the company, the history of the family, she told me about the wines for tasting, leaving nothing out🍷 thank you very much and I will come back to visit you soon, also because the wine I bought is... already finished! I accompanied it with a delicious sliced beef and I have to say that ... Perfect marriage!!!! 😋😋😋

One of the best wineries and the probably most idyllic location of all of southern Toscana. The winery is well known to wine enthusiasts for their 100 points wines, but for others a real insider tip. The winery is family run, so you can get all background information from first hand, or even from the owner himself. Absolute worth trying.
