Cascina Gilli offers a diverse selection of wines, showcasing both regional varieties and unique local grapes, resulting in a versatile collection that reflects the essence of Piedmont.

A Rich History of Cascina Gilli

The story of Cascina Gilli began in 1983 when Gianni Vergnano recognized the potential of this remarkable land. With its unique terroir, natural resources, and stunning architecture, the winery quickly began its first productions. Since then, Cascina Gilli has consistently delivered high-quality wines, driven by a deep belief in their terroir and their craft.

Innovative Winemaking

Starting with traditional grape varieties like Freisa and Malvasia, Cascina Gilli has expanded its offerings to include iconic Piedmontese grapes such as Barbera and Nebbiolo. The winery is committed to highlighting indigenous varieties and exploring lesser-known territories. Spanning 12 hectares, their vineyards cultivate Freisa, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Malvasia, Bonarda, and Chardonnay. The region's blue-gray clay marl and limestone soils provide essential nutrients, fostering the growth of these exceptional grapes.

Nature and Nurture in the Vineyard

At Cascina Gilli, the vineyards are nurtured with care, allowing nature to play its vital role. The winery employs thoughtful cultivation practices to ensure the health and vitality of the vines. This harmonious relationship with nature enhances the quality of their wines, resulting in captivating stories behind each bottle. Cascina Gilli is eager to share these tales and the unique experiences that come with their wines.

Tasting in the hills. The place is lovely, the wines excellent, the waiters super friendly and very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to illustrating the wines. The right moment between glasses, the view spectacular (for us it was a warm autumn day and we were outside)

We were there on a rainy day and if it's beautiful even when it's raining, how much beauty can spring radiate? Francesca and Fabio welcomed us with great simplicity and professionalism and showed us around the property. Of course, there was no shortage of tastings: wines with personality, elegant and intense. We were very impressed by their rosé, the Albugnano (100% Nebbiolo) and the Freisa aged in wood. We took them home and the price-quality ratio is perfect. We were looking for an event location for Wineppy and we found it.
