This estate is perched on a hillside overlooking the Arno River, where the unique terroir supports the cultivation of exceptional grape varieties. The estate is home to the 11th-century castle that now serves as the winery's cellar and barrel room. The name Nipozzano is believed to mean "without a well," reflecting the area's dry conditions that are ideal for grapevine growth.
Vineyards and Signature Wines
Spanning over 800 hectares, Castello di Nipozzano boasts a rich history of viticulture. In 1855, a visionary ancestor of the Frescobaldi family invested in cultivating grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, which were previously unknown in Tuscany. After years of dedicated care, these vines now produce the estate's flagship wine, Mormoreto, celebrated for its quality and character.

Magnificent place! We rented the Moraiolo room for 4 wonderful nights. Quiet place, breathtaking scenery as far as the eye can see. Magnificent lunch prepared by Barbara. We were also invited to a tour of the vineyard with Federica. A wonderful, kind person who was kind enough to chat with us in French. We also had the Tuscan snack in a room just for us. A delight! I would go back tomorrow morning if I could. I highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Moraiolo room which is located on the site in a beautiful restored and renovated building. The people who work there are so friendly and welcoming. The view from our room was incredible! The cleanliness of the place and the freshness of the breakfasts were much appreciated. We did the tour of the vineyard with tasting. Truly an excellent visit! Very informative and exciting. Elena also answered all our questions without the slightest worry. The "light lunch" and the wines were delicious. The historical side of the site and the view.. everything was breathtaking. I would have stayed longer!
