Home to Exceptional Wines - Castello Di Vicarello Winery

Castello di Vicarello, a stunning castle-hotel, was founded 25 years ago by Carlo and Aurora Baccheschi Berti in the picturesque Maremma countryside of Tuscany. Nestled in Poggi del Sasso, this enchanting estate spans 40 hectares of organic vineyards, olive groves, and fertile farmland. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the winery offers breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, lush forests, and the serene Ombrone River.

Commitment to Organic Practices

The vineyard covers seven hectares and is dedicated to producing a diverse range of grapes that yield rich and complex wines enjoyed worldwide. The winemaking team employs a high-density planting method, utilizing natural sulfur and copper to maintain soil health in their organic vineyard. Varieties such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot thrive here, contributing to the classic wines of Castello di Vicarello. The vineyard employs both traditional cordon training and ancient albarello training, with 11,000 to 14,000 plants per hectare. The region's favorable climate, characterized by cool breezes in late spring and summer and warm winter sunlight, supports the dedicated team in crafting quality wines. In addition to grapes, the estate cultivates over 50 varieties of vegetables and 30 aromatic herbs, enhancing the overall agricultural richness of the property.
