With its stronghold dominating the slopes of Montagnola and rural countryside, Castello Poggiarello is located on Val di Merse Valley, a short drive away from the Siena wine-region of Tuscany. Surrounded by unspoiled landscapes, the estate produces high-end, organic red and rose wines, along with the cultivation of peach groves and Italian-style vegetable gardens. Each member of the winemaking family has contributed useful and is involved in different aspects of the production.
Stunning Vineyards Spread Around Castello Poggiarello
Respecting the ecosystem that surrounds the estate for centuries, the owner grows a broad range of grapes, including Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc in a 12-hectare vineyards. These grapes are organically cultivated and manually picked, keeping the spirit of conventional viticulture alive. The wine cellar has undergone many innovative advancements. Various sizes and designs of wooden barriques and barrels, some as old as 100 years, are used for wine aging and refining.
Host Small Private Events and Meetings Within the Winery
There are facilities to organize birthdays, bachelor’s, weddings, and corporate meetings within the historic walls of the Castello Pggiarello. A large rectangular table with chairs around it can be a perfect place for wine & dine. In the garden, overlooking the Tuscan landscapes, you can have a small gathering and enjoy the charms that the Siena countryside has to offer. There also stands a medieval tower and a swimming pool, decorated by lawns and trees, with a hydro-massage facility – a soothing experience for tourists.
