Traveling along the road to our winery is already a breathtaking experience. First, you must stop alongside the road to take a photo, as thousands of bypasses have done! Our property is called Tenuta Castelnuovo Tancredi, and the main villa, which you see upon arriving, was constructed over a few centuries. First, the lookout tower was built in 1199, to be used by the army of Siena as a vantage point during medieval times to protect aggressors from all sides wanting to traverse the Val D'Orcia to eventually arrive in Rome. The soldiers lived in what is our cantina and tasting room today.
Tenuta Castelnuovo Tancredi in the Heart of Tuscany
The main villa was then built in 1565 by Cardinal Tancredi as his main residence. This area of Tuscany was always considered the heartland of agriculteral production, hence the large properties surrounded by planted fields of wheat, barley, alfalfa and beans. Our property was the first in the area to respect the organic methods of farming, and our wine is also made from organic grapes.
Today , the villa is our family home and we do not have guided visits, however the tasting room is full of memories and you will learn about our past as well as our present and future plans for our winery with a Master sommelier.

Quiet, Rustic, Tuscan Idyll. We had a wonderful 4 days at the Fienile cottage, by the olive grove. It had everything you need: Swimming pool (our 2 boys, 10 yrs and 12 yrs, spent most of their time in it) comfy beds, air con, basic kitchen, BBQ, lovely walking trails, an outdoor space to kick a ball & play frisby, great local restaurants, & most importantly... peace and quiet. If it had a ping pong table, it would be perfect! (Hahaa. I only say that 'cos the 4 of us are obsessed with table tennis.) Best time ever! Thanks Lee. What a great place! Hope we'll be back.
