The Rich History of Champagne Gruet

Champagne Gruet, located in the picturesque village of Bethon, has been a cornerstone of the Côte des Bar region for centuries. The Gruet family has deep roots in this area, dating back to 1670, with their legacy reflected in local names like “Bas Gruet” and “Sur-Gruet.” The family’s winemaking expertise has been passed down through generations, culminating in 1975 when Claude Gruet launched his first cuvées. Today, his son, Pierre-Charles Gruet, continues this proud tradition, ensuring that the family’s commitment to quality remains strong.

Winemaking: A True Art Form

Under the guidance of Claude and Pierre-Charles Gruet, Champagne wines are crafted with a unique character and depth. Utilizing advanced techniques alongside traditional methods, they produce exceptional cuvées that meet the highest standards. Their cellars provide the ideal environment for the careful vinification of their wines, allowing each bottle to reflect the artistry and dedication of the Gruet family.

A Diverse Selection of Champagnes

The vineyards of Champagne Gruet span over 8,000 hectares between Aube and Seine, featuring a variety of noble grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Arbane, and Petit Meslier. Nestled among scenic hills, forests, and waterways, these grapes thrive, producing wines with remarkable expressions. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and participate in events that showcase the winery's offerings. Champagne Gruet stands as a testament to both tradition and innovation in the world of high-quality Champagne production.

Excellent family house! The champagnes are sublime. I particularly recommend the Arbane cuvée, a forgotten grape variety and yet so delicious.

We went for La Route du Champagne and loved this cellar! The tour was very informative and historic. The cellar was expansive and the champagne delicious.

Champagne Gruet a family house with vintages of Traditional Brut, Grande Reserve, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, Vintage champagnes, but especially 3 Blancs vintages, the Cuvée Arbanne and the Cuvée Pinot Blanc. A lovely tasting room and group event room which sits alongside a number of 'beautiful pins'. Call before visits (it’s always good to announce yourself). #champagnegruet #champagne #oenotourisme #troyesbulles #troyeschampagnemetropole #gastronomy #vignoblechampenois #regiongrandest #heritage #cadoles #eglise #cathedrale #vineyard #chardonay #pinotnoir #pinotmeunier #grandslacsdechampagne #discovery #stays #holidays #lacampagne #campagne #slow #slowtourisme #environnement#cotedesbar
