Exceptional Pinot Noir Through Mass Selection

Located in the charming village of Ecueil, at the base of the Montagne de Reims, Domaine Louis Brochet has been crafting premium wines since the 19th century. For four generations, the Brochet family has nurtured their vineyards with dedication and respect for traditional Champagne methods. A unique practice initiated by Marie Arsene, the family matriarch, involved marking the best vines with a line on their trunks. Only those vines that received this mark for three consecutive years were selected for removal and grafting.

This careful mass selection has contributed to the distinctive character of Pinot Noir d’Ecueil, which accounts for three-quarters of Champagne Louis Brochet's production.

Champagne Louis Brochet: A Heritage Since 1881

In 1881, Louis Brochet took the family’s winemaking to new heights. His passion for viticulture led to the creation of the first label, “Le Champagne Louis Brochet,” marking a significant milestone in the family’s history. The estate spans 13 hectares across 50 plots in Ecueil, a Premier Cru area of Montagne de Reims, and neighboring terroirs, showcasing the region's rich diversity.

Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

The Brochet family prioritizes environmental stewardship and the preservation of their terroir. Their commitment to sustainable viticulture earned them certification in Champagne, along with high environmental value certification in 2017. This dual focus on economic viability and environmental responsibility reflects their dedication to producing high-quality artisan wines while caring for the land.

Great day to visit and taste what the estate has to offer. My friends and I were more than well received by Louis and his sister. A family champagne house well worth the detour. We really fell in love with the Extra Noir vintage which is a true marvel. I would definitely go back

Highly recommended! We got the tour from Delphine, who had an answer to every question. We were warmly welcomed by the dog and were able to look around the shop at our leisure. The tour was super informative and we learned a lot. If you compare it to a tour at Pommery, you learn a lot more at Louis Brochet. And of course the personal touch is fantastic! The champagne was delicious, we were able to try everything and even had a ratafia at the end. In summary; book this tour!

We had a wonderful time at Louis Brochet. Really enjoyed the tour. Delphine explained the whole process of champagne production in an interesting way. After that we tasted different varieties of champagne on the terrace in the garden. Very friendly and family atmosphere. Would recommend for a visit.

We had a great time at Louis Brochet. Delphine talked us through the whole process of Champagne production. It was really enjoyable with just the right amount of information without getting boring at any point. On top of that they have a magnificent tasting room inside and lovely terrace outside. The champagne was delightful and we ended up buying some bottles.
