A Rich Heritage of Champagne

Champagne Blaise Lourdez has a storied history that dates back to 1812, when the Maison Blaise Lourdez was founded in Damery, near Épernay, the heart of the Champagne region. The estate spans 8 hectares, featuring a blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Noir. This diverse selection of grapes allows the winemakers to craft a variety of exquisite blends. Notably, Champagne Blaise Lourdez does not use malolactic fermentation, preserving the natural acidity of the grapes and enhancing the wine's character and flavor. The evolution of their champagne production began during World War II under Rene Blais, leading to the launch of their first branded champagne in 1957, which has since gained a reputation for exceptional quality.

Signature Champagnes to Savor

Champagne Blaise Lourdez is renowned for its signature cuvées, including Cuvee Glass Rose, Cuvee Louis Francois, Cuvee Prestige, Cuvee Charme Blanc de Blanc, and Cuvee Charme Rose. Each of these champagnes boasts unique characteristics, making them ideal for both special occasions and everyday enjoyment. Visitors to Champagne Blaise Lourdez can expect a comprehensive wine tourism experience, complete with charming guest rooms nestled in the vineyards. This setting offers a perfect blend of relaxation and appreciation for nature, making it a delightful destination for wine lovers and travelers alike.

A very pleasant visit in a relaxing environment, tasting excellent champagnes. I suggest the Charme Ambrée, excellent on the nose and very balanced on the palate.

The host was a very nice lady who shared a lot of knowledge about the wine and area. Wine had nice flavour and the garden was a great setting. Fun for children as well.

Perfect small house champagne experience! The lady of the house gave us a personal tour of the vineyards, cellars and gardens with great champagnes developed by the family and delicious lunch :-)

I highly recommend the very charming Champagne estate, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Grape Valley, with exquisite and delicious Champagne and the hospitable host Isabella who speaks fluent English. The wine cellar tour was enthusiastic and detailed and even allowed us to see the Champagne Grand in town, the various machines and details not seen in the winery are well worth a visit!

Not only is the price/performance ratio great - but the individual types of champagne each deserve their own rating. Isabelle and Bruno are perfect hosts and experts in their field. Please keep it up for a long time - we have been loyal and very satisfied customers (friends) for almost 50 years.
