Château de Flaugergues – A Historic Gem in Montpellier

Château de Flaugergues, established in the late 17th century, is nestled in a picturesque rural estate surrounded by stunning gardens. Once a summer retreat for Montpellier's nobility in the 18th century, this estate has been lovingly passed down through generations, preserving the elegance and charm of its noble heritage.

Beautiful Gardens Surrounding the Château

Spanning 25 hectares in the heart of the AOC Languedoc, Château de Flaugergues is situated on the La Mejanelle terroir, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate ideal for winemaking. The estate features a lush four-hectare garden, complete with a Roman villa at its base. Visitors can stroll through the gardens, which showcase a delightful collection of classic Italian, romantic, and Mediterranean plants, including citrus trees, bamboo, and palms. The orangery and the grand alley are particularly noteworthy, offering a serene escape into nature.

Authentic Languedoc Wines Await

The winery features a dedicated area for wine tourism known as the Oasis of Flaugergues. Guests can learn about various grape varieties, including white Grenache, Marsanne, and Roussanne. A visit to this winery provides a unique opportunity to appreciate both the art of winemaking and the rich history of the estate.

We went as a family to attend a light event. It was very beautiful. The place is accessible to people in wheelchairs.

A beautiful nighttime discovery of the gardens thanks to the luminous odyssey featuring animals and cultures from elsewhere. It's quite refreshing, compatible with the family format and very easily accessible with a stroller. Large secure parking. We will return during the day to rediscover the architecture and the gardens.

The luminous odyssey until January 12, 2024, from 5:30 p.m., a magical journey! Just magical. A show on the castle esplanade, with a pretty northern lights sky!

Superb visit with the lanterns of the Luminous Odyssey. This garden, already magnificent during the day, is totally magnified by this event at night! A very beautiful experience, much appreciated by our children and us of course! But what a good and beautiful idea to have organized this a stone's throw from our home. A bit of a challenge to park in the car park but the security guards guided us phew. Maybe tickets by time slot would have made for a perfect first evening for everyone. Some unfortunately were unable to park. Surely too much enthusiasm or enthusiasm but it lasts until January, I sincerely hope that the people who were unable to get in because the car park was full and there was no real secure alternative nearby will have another ticket. In any case, go there quickly before it stops, it's super cool! Be careful the day after rain too or take shoes that can handle anything, a bit muddy in places but that doesn't stop the visit! Very well organized sincerely! Congratulations for the initiative, you are the best! 👌👌👍👍
