Balance and Purity at Château La Baronne

For red wine enthusiasts, Château La Baronne is a true gem. Managed by the Lignères family, this winery is dedicated to crafting high-quality red wines using traditional viticulture methods. The Lignères family takes pride in producing exceptional wines without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers. Balance and purity are the hallmarks of the wines at Château La Baronne.

Organic Wines from Languedoc-Roussillon

The Lignères family is passionate about creating wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. By harnessing the natural characteristics of the soil and the distinctiveness of the grape varieties, they produce organic wines that are both flavorful and authentic. The winery primarily focuses on the Carignan grape, known for its rich flavors and complexity. The family's winemaking legacy dates back to the 16th century, with André and Suzette Lignères purchasing the estate in 1957, building on André's family's existing vineyards in Moux and Fontcouverte.

Innovative Barrel Racking System

Château La Baronne employs a unique barrel racking system designed to enhance the stability of their wines. This innovative setup features a robust steel frame that supports each barrel, resembling wine bottles elegantly arranged on a table. This method not only streamlines the winemaking process but also ensures the quality of the wine remains uncompromised.

We discovered the Vals blanc 2017 at the Fontenille estate at the foot of the Lubéron. We got in touch to do a tasting with Madame Lignières Anne and her son. A pure moment of pleasure tasting their wines from the La Baronne estate. We are distributed with a few boxes of sublime wines

Very good experience, we discovered the range of wines from the estate during our visit. Everything is very good, including the whites where I particularly appreciated the NW Vermentino and Jean's very original Grenache Gris... then the reds, including the single grape varieties Mourvèdre, Grenache, the excellent Alaric vintage and especially the superb Piece de Roche vintage made with old Carignan grape varieties. Thanks to Clément for his welcome, his availability, his knowledge and his explanations about the estate and I invite wine lovers to discover it without delay.
