Discover Clos de l’Amandaie

Clos de l’Amandaie resides 25 kilometers northwest of Montpellier, in the beautiful town of Aumelas where the Peytavy Family lives, on the slopes of the hillside. Every generation has contributed with a touch of modernization to the winery, supported aptly by the advice of the elders to constantly improve before passin on the family business. In 2002, Philippe and his wife, Stephanie, took over Domaine Clos de l’Amandaie.

The Ideal Terroir of Clos de l’Amandaie

The vineyards is located at the coolest part of the appellation Grès de Montpellier and benefits from the amazing climate of the area. The plantation is mainly on the northern slopes of the Aumelas plateau. Higher average altitude and cool nights contribute to the slower and more frequent ripening of the grapes adding aromatic freshness and finesse to the wines. Only a few varieties of grapes grow at Clos de l’Amandaie including Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Roussanne and Vermentino.
