Every wine need to be produced with a commitment
“Fine wines cannot be made without commitment”, -these are the words of Zsigmond Teleki, the founder of the Csányi Winery’s predecessor Chateau Teleki back in 1881. He was one of the most famous viticulturists of Hungary. It’s been a while, but the winery still maintains the same attitude and devotion while growing and processing their wines. His spiritual heritage has been determining the winery both regarding their future objectives and their everyday practices. After a complete renovation, the winery still perfectly manages to balance old traditions with modern technologies. One of the unique features of the Csányi Pincészet winery is the location.
The vineyards grow on the same geographical altitude as the northern part of the Bordeaux wine regions, resulting in rich, fiery full-bodied wines
Kopár is the most famous vineyard
The winery harvests from the legendary Kopár vineyard, and they have parcels in the excellent vineyards called Ördögárok, Csillagvölgy or Jammertal. The major grape varieties cultivated in the vineyards are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Portugieser, Merlot, Kékfrankos, Olasz Rizling, Hárslevelű, and Petit Verdot. Only the best grapes are selected for winemaking. The winery produces all its wines under DHC labels. The prime categories are red, white, rose, and sparkling wines. The estate previously owned 370 hectares, which was increased up to 500 hectares by the year of 2020.
