Organic Wines Crafted in Hungary's Scenic Pannon Region
Nestled in the picturesque Cinka Dűlő, Pósta Borház is a family-owned winery located in Szekszárd, a celebrated wine region in Hungary. The winery combines traditional methods with biodynamic practices and innovative techniques to produce exceptional red, white, and rosé wines. The Posta family ages their wines in 156 oak barrels, meticulously arranged in a modern cellar that reflects their commitment to quality.
A Rich History of Winemaking
The Posta family's winemaking roots trace back to a small vineyard in Bakta-dűlő. After losing their original vineyard due to nationalization, they revitalized their passion for winemaking in the early 1970s by acquiring a fertile vineyard in Cinka Dűlő, along with a press house and cellar dedicated to white varietals. In 1998, they expanded their holdings by purchasing an additional 3.5 hectares in Gurovicza Dűlő for red grapes, followed by a ten-hectare expansion and the establishment of a new winery in 2006.
Artisanal Practices in the Vineyards
Pósta Borház cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards, featuring a diverse array of grape varieties. The majority of the vineyards are dedicated to red grapes, including Cabernet Franc, Kékfrankos, Merlot, Kadarka, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The remaining area is planted with high-quality white varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc and Rhine Riesling. These vines benefit from a unique microclimate within a five-kilometer radius of the winery, enhancing the quality of the grapes.
