Organic Wines Made within Hungarian DHC Label
Drenched entirely with the panoramic countryside of Cinka Dűlő, Pósta Borház is a family-owned winery based in Szekszárd, a renowned Hungarian wine region. Using a blend of traditional and biodynamic approaches with a pinch of innovation, the winery delivers high-end red, white, and rose wines. The Posta family stores its vintages in 156 wooden oak barrels, beautifully lined up in the modern cellar.
The Streamline of Advances at Pósta Borház Winery
Started with a small vine plot in Bakta-dűlő, the Posta family always had its roots deep in the Szekszárd wine region. Unfortunately, the grandparents lost their precious vineyard because of nationalization. Later in the early 70s, the family bought a fertile Cinka Dűlő vineyard, a press house, and a cellar, and dedicated the land to white varietals. The family purchased another 3.5 hectares in Gurovicza Dűlő in 1998 for red grapes, followed by a ten-hectare expansion and the new winery structure’s establishment in 2006.
Unique, Artisanal Approach in the Vineyards
Pósta Borház’s vineyards cover 15 hectares in which a wide range of grape varieties are grown. Most of the plots are planted with reds, including Cabernet Franc, Blue Franc, Merlot, Kadarka, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The remaining area is cultivated with top-quality whites, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Rhine Riesling. These vines are located within a five-kilometer radius of the winery, enjoying the microclimate of the hilltop.
