Delheim Winery produces a variety of award-winning wines, including a Grand Reserve and Pinotage Rosé.
Lovely Flora and Fauna on this Winery Estate
Their vineyards are located over two separate properties. One is present on the Delheim Estate, while the other one is located at a nearby in the area of Vera Cruz. The microclimate and soil are perfect in the region for the cultivation of vines. The winemakers make use of sustainable methods in their vineyards. They use a pressure chamber to check the water level in the vines. This technique ensures there is no water and other resources wasted. Delheim is famous for its flora and fauna. One can find over 50 different bird species, including Black Sparrowhawk, Laughing Dove, Grey Heron, Egyptian Geese, as well as many reptiles, including snakes, lizards, and tortoises.
Sustainability and Conservation are Top Priority
The main varieties of grapes that grow in their vineyards include Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Shiraz, and Gewurztraminer. Vineyard workers at Delheim Winery handpick the best grapes and use them to produce high-quality red, white, sparkling, rosé, and dessert wines. In 2008, the winery won the Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices Award for their work. Delheim is one of the leading wineries in the region for conservation, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
