Roots from the 16th century
The Villa Dianella winery dates back to the end of the 16th century, when it was used by the Medici family as a country house for hunting. The name Dianella is derived from Diana, the goddess of the hunt. The villa has long and colorful history, during which it served as a home for the 18th century Italian poet Renato Fucini who mentions it in several of his poems. Eventually, Dianella came into the family of Francesco and Veronica Passerin d’Entrèves in the early 20th century and was restored to recreate the original warm atmosphere. The vineyard at Dianella grows varieties such as Sangiovese, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Orpicchio, Malvasia Lunga del Chianti, all bottled under the Chianti designation.
Visitors can indulge in the Villa’s own red, white, and rose wines, as well as sparkling wines, dessert wines and more
