A Biodynamic Winery in Burgundy

Domaine Changarnier is a family-owned organic winery nestled in the picturesque village of Monthélie. With a rich history spanning over 400 years, this estate beautifully blends traditional winemaking practices with modern techniques to produce exceptional red and white wines.

Preserving Centuries-Old Traditions

The Changarnier family has deep roots in Monthelie, with the winery established in 1720. For generations, they have cultivated grapes in the surrounding vineyards. Today, Claude and Antoine Changarnier continue this legacy, having taken over the estate in 2004. They have introduced innovative winemaking methods while maintaining the family’s commitment to quality. Antoine has also brought on board Fabrice Groussin, an experienced winemaker from Chassagne-Montrachet, to further enhance their craft.

Organic Viticulture with a Commitment to Nature

Domaine Changarnier spans six hectares of fragmented plots across Meursault, Monthelie, Auxey-Duresses, and Pommard, primarily growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. The family prioritizes manual grape harvesting, ensuring that only the finest bunches are selected and transported to the cellar in crates. To enhance the aging process, Claude and Antoine have invested in new wooden barrels and vats for refining their wines.
