Domaine Changarnier is a family-run, organic winery located in the beautiful village of Monthélie. The winery is a perfect combination of traditions and technologies. The same family runs it for over 400 years, producing high-end red and white wines.

Centuries-Old Winery Traditions Preserved

For many centuries, the Changarnier family is living in Monthelie. The winery was founded in 1720. Since then, the family has been cultivating grapes in the vineyards surrounding the winery. Today, Claude and Antoine Changarnier run the estate with the same passion and commitment as their forefathers. They acquired the winery in 2004 and introduced several modern winemaking methods and cellar practices to the estate. Antoine also hired Fabrice Groussin, a winemaker with a lot of experience in Chassagne-Montrachet, to be a part of this young generation of winegrowers.

Organic Viticulture with Respect to Mother Nature

Domaine Changarnier is stretched to six hectares with a fragmented plot. The vineyards are extended over the municipalities of Meursault, Monthelie, Auxey-Duresses and Pommard, mainly cultivated with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The family believes in the manual harvesting of grapes so that the best bunches are carefully selected and moved to the cellar in crates. Claude and Antoine have also bought new wooden barrels for aging and vats for refining.
