Domaine de Grimardy is nestled in the picturesque region of Bergerac, France, on a remarkable terroir. Acquired in 2021, our winery is driven by a deep passion for winemaking. We found the perfect location in Montazeau, at the heart of the Montravel appellation, to craft our organic wines.

Wines from Montravel Crafted with Care

Since 2013, our estate has been certified organic, allowing us to produce aromatic wines that reflect the biodiversity of our vineyards. We prioritize sustainable practices, using biodegradable weeding products applied selectively to alternate rows. In the remaining rows, we let grass grow naturally, maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Regular soil analysis ensures optimal balance, and we carefully thin leaves on the east side during summer for better sunlight exposure.

The Terroir of Montravel

Our vineyards feature clay-limestone soils enriched with hard limestone, marls, and fossilized oysters, with some plots containing flint. The altitude ranges from 80 to 115 meters, providing ideal conditions for grape cultivation. With north and south-facing plots, our winery produces a variety of red, white, and rosé wines. The primary grape varieties include Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon, each contributing to the unique character of our wines.
