Tucked inside the magnificent beauty of Languedoc is a boutique, family-owned winery, Domaine la Sarabande, located in the Faugères. The estate produces sustainable and robust biodynamic wines. The winery and vineyards are extended over 9.5 hectares, giving birth to premium French wines.
An inspiring Story of Paul & Isla Gordon
Domaine la Sarabande was born in 2020, a relatively new winery in the Languedoc wine region. Paul is Australian, while Isla is Irish. The couple started their winemaking career in New Zealand and acquired excellent viticulture skills from renowned vignerons. Then, in 2009, they shifted to France in search of vineyard plots to make their dream a reality – a passion for winemaking. After a vigorous search, they rented a few parcels and a home with a cellar and started crafting high-quality wines. Later in 2020, they built their own small winery, Domaine la Sarabande. The littlest members of the family, Rory and Peter, also help their parents during harvesting.
Faugères Vineyards are the Mixture of Old & New Vine Plants
Today, the Sarabande Winery owns three vineyard plots: Mont Gros, Lou Sagnas, and Les Rabasses. These vineyards stretched between the hamlets of La Liquiere and Lentheric while some at the outskirts of Lentheric. Various grape varietals are grown, such as rich-quality Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Carignan. Only organic fertilizers are used to ensure the quality of grapes. Then, the grapes are carefully selected to craft luscious red, white, and rose wines.

5 star experience, would recommend to anybody
I had a wonderful wine tasting experience at Domaine la Sarabande. Isla, along with her two lovely dogs, greeted us upon arrival with a spread of cheese, meats, and a lot of wine bottles waiting to be tasted! The wine was outstanding, ranging from gentle whites to bold reds. Isla also let us taste a gin, which was a true cherry on the top! Thank you Isla for a great experience, and I look forward to returning.
