Nestled in the stunning Languedoc region, Domaine la Sarabande is a boutique, family-owned winery located in Faugères. This estate is dedicated to producing sustainable and biodynamic wines, with its vineyards spanning 9.5 hectares, resulting in premium French wines that reflect the unique terroir of the area.
Founded in 2020, Domaine la Sarabande is one of the newest wineries in Languedoc. Paul, an Australian, and Isla, an Irish native, began their winemaking journey in New Zealand, honing their skills under the guidance of esteemed vignerons. In 2009, they moved to France, seeking vineyard plots to fulfill their dream of crafting exceptional wines. After renting several parcels and a home with a cellar, they began producing high-quality wines. In 2020, they established their own winery, with their children, Rory and Peter, joining in during the harvest season.
Domaine la Sarabande manages three vineyard plots: Mont Gros, Lou Sagnas, and Les Rabasses, located between the hamlets of La Liquiere and Lentheric. The estate cultivates a variety of grapes, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Carignan. Committed to organic practices, they use only organic fertilizers to enhance grape quality. Each grape is meticulously selected to create exquisite red, white, and rosé wines that showcase the essence of the Languedoc region.

Write a reviewWe had a wonderful visit to Domaine de Sarabande. Set in a beautiful area of Faugeres, the vineyard has a great sustainable and organic ethos. Paul and Isla were terrific hosts and brought us through their history in the world of wine and how they found and started Domaine de Sarabande. Their enthusiasm and great focus on quality in both the vineyard and the cellar is evident across the excellent and wide range of wines produced. Would highly taking the any opportunity to visit and taste the wonderful wines and meet Paul and Isla.

Lovely little winery with amazing wine and really welcoming people. I thoroughly recommend paying them a visit, and if you do, make sure you sample their Gin too. I bought a bottle to try, and I did not regret it.

I had a wonderful wine tasting experience at Domaine la Sarabande. Isla, along with her two lovely dogs, greeted us upon arrival with a spread of cheese, meats, and a lot of wine bottles waiting to be tasted! The wine was outstanding, ranging from gentle whites to bold reds. Isla also let us taste a gin, which was a true cherry on the top! Thank you Isla for a great experience, and I look forward to returning.
