A Family Legacy of Winemaking in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône
The Story of Domaine Tour Saint Michel
Domaine Tour Saint Michel is a cherished family-owned winery established in 1930 by Michel Fabre. He began with a small vineyard and a passion for winemaking. Over the years, his son Henri and daughter-in-law Eliane expanded the estate, which now spans 44 hectares. Today, Mireille, the third-generation winemaker, has taken the helm since 2007, blending traditional methods with modern techniques. In 2018, her daughter Magali joined the team, continuing the family legacy.
The Enchanting Vineyards
Located in the sun-drenched Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the vineyard benefits from exceptional terroir. The estate's plots are found in Gallimardes, Crouscroute, Petites Serres, and Grand Coulet, each offering unique soil characteristics ideal for grape cultivation. Domaine Tour Saint Michel cultivates six of the 13 permitted grape varieties in the region: for reds, the rich Grenache, refined Syrah, and robust Mourvèdre; for whites, the classic Grenache Blanc, aromatic Roussanne, and refreshing Clairette.
Commitment to Organic Practices
The team at Domaine Tour Saint Michel prioritizes environmental stewardship in their vineyard management. They refrain from using chemical products, opting instead for organic fertilizers and manual soil cultivation techniques. Hand-harvesting ensures that grapes are picked at their peak ripeness. Since the 2020 vintage, the estate has been transitioning to organic farming, focusing on enhancing soil health and vine vitality.
