The Birth of Famille Valéry Winery
The Valery Family has been producing highquality wines for over three generations. In 1950, Gilbert Valery planted the first vineyard and bought a 30 hectare vineyard with a cellar in Sauvian. In 1972, he built a bigger and more modern cellar in Sauvian with a winemaking capacity of 25,000 hl. In 1974, after the death of Gilbert Valery, his children Patricia and Michel took over the estate. Their many years of experience and hard work producing quality wines led them to their first bottle of wine. In 2001, the family decided to bottle their amazing wines. They also built a wine shop on a beautiful site in Sauvian, where you can find every wine grown in their vineyards. In addition to exploiting the historic “Domaine des Deux Ruisseaux”, the family of Famille Valéry took over the production of “Château Le Thou”.
The Wines of Famille Valéry
Constantly looking for innovation, the family expanded their assortment with a semi-sweet wine named Eden. With modern packaging, it is a very good wine to have for aperitif. Nowadays, the Valery Family harvests noble aromatic grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Muscat, Roussanne, Petit Manseng and Grenache Blanc for the white wines. The winery also harvests red grape varieties such as Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
