A Winery Story

Fattoria Acquaviva was established in 1984 when Mr. Serafino D'Ascenzi acquired the estate from Marquis Ciacci. Since its inception, the winery has embraced a philosophy of multifunctional agriculture, with a strong focus on wine and gourmet tourism. In 1992, the estate opened a charming country house to welcome visitors. In 2020, Fattoria Acquaviva partnered with renowned winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, enhancing their commitment to quality and consumer satisfaction.

The Lands that Nurture the Grapes

Initially, the estate featured just three hectares of white grape vineyards. Under Mr. Serafino's guidance, this area has expanded to 15 hectares, now including a variety of red grapes. Located near Montemerano, Fattoria Acquaviva lies within the prestigious regions of Morellino di Scansano and Bianco di Pitigliano. The vineyard cultivates an array of grape varieties, including Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malvasia Nera, Alicante, Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Verdelho, and Malvasia Bianca, each contributing to the unique character of their wines.

We stayed one night in this beautiful and authentic resort. The room was a standard classic room, but very nice, functional and welcoming. High quality bedroom textiles, starting with the bed linen. We appreciated the service and friendliness as well as the free swimming pool. The entrance to the property is really impressive and the right place to stop and rest for a few days! Highly recommended! 🤩

Beautiful property, perfect relaxation, extremely friendly staff. Special thanks to Cristina, who brought us something small to eat even though the kitchen was closed. The wine is highly recommended! Top!

A wonderful property nestled in the beauty of nature. Exceptional welcome and hospitality: a warm welcome, tips on how to best explore the surrounding area, and a warm welcome. Magnificent rooms, fully equipped. The entire property, with its green and quiet spaces, is very welcoming. Breakfast is served buffet-style in a very welcoming environment, including the staff, with genuine sweet and savory products. I highly recommend a wine tasting, accompanied by delicious local products and the history of the property and vineyard. We'll be back very soon!

A perfect place, with lots of vinyards and lively landscape where you can rome around. It has a lovely pool and great luxurious atmosphere. We had also their wine tasting, which was very tasty and came with crustini with their oen fabricated olive oil! Very kind and hospitable stuff. Very close to the Saturnia baths, which was perfect. I will most deffinitely be back.
