Fontefico: An Organic Winery on the Southern Abruzzo Coast

Nestled along the stunning Gulf of Vasto, Fontefico is an organic winery located on the southern coast of Abruzzo, Italy. The estate produces around 45,000 bottles of exceptional DOC wines, which are enjoyed by wine lovers worldwide. Each bottle reflects the dedication and passion of the vineyard, where native grapes are cultivated from a single-vineyard plot.

Ideal Conditions for Premium Grapes

Spanning 15 hectares, the vineyard employs organic farming practices to nurture a variety of indigenous grape varieties. Here, you will find high-quality Pecorino, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, and Montepulciano, alongside fruity Aglianico and Malvasia. Hand-harvesting is done using small carts and 20kg boxes, ensuring that only the best grapes make it to the winery. The unique terroir and microclimate of Abruzzo, with its proximity to the Adriatic Sea, create the perfect environment for producing award-winning red, white, and rosé wines.

Enjoy the Scenic Beauty of Punta Penna Cape

Fontefico is an ideal destination for a memorable family vacation or a getaway with friends. Relax by the pool while savoring exquisite wines, or host private events such as weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries at the charming Gazebo pavilion, surrounded by the breathtaking countryside. For corporate gatherings, impress your clients with a meeting set against the backdrop of nature, complete with a refreshing wine break.

In addition to wines, the Fontefico Wine Shop offers a variety of products, including Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Pure Argon Coravin capsules, professional corkscrews, and natural soaps and creams, making it a perfect stop for unique gifts and local specialties.

My family and friends went for a cooking class and wine tasting and had the most amazing time. Food we made was incredible and the food that was served was also so yummy. The wine was delicious and had such a warm family feel to it that we felt right at home. This was my first time doing a cooking class in Abruzzo (and they did in English as well) and I would recommend to everyone to do it. Beautiful property and facility and this was in the middle of winter, so I can only imagine it gets more gorgeous as the weather warms. Many many thanks!!!

🍝 - Food: N.A. 🛎️ - Service 5/5 📍 - Location 4/5 TLDR Fontefico is a place built with passion, competence and commitment. It spreads these values from every stone. Nicola is the friend you would like to have when you visit a place for the first time. The type of guy that gives you the right boost to get out of your comfort zone. I recently visited Fonte Fico in Vasto for a wine-tasting experience with my friends, and it was excellent. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are in the area. Our host, Nicola, was terrific! Though he may resemble a Colombian narco, his passion and incredible knowledge of wine-making were genuinely inspiring. During the tour, Nicola shared with us how the wine business adventure started for his family and himself. Afterwards, we were treated to a delightful selection of cheese and cold cuts, which perfectly complemented the three wines we tasted. We had a great time and conversations about the wine industry in Italy and how to be good at choosing the best wine. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Highly recommended. Very beautiful place, excellent wine, great experience. And the wine makers are super knowledgeable, true craftsmen. If you can, meet their Mom, Miriam, a intelligent and charming woman. Love Italy!

Fontefico is a beautiful reality that combines the quality and passion for the traditions typical of a family-run company with the capacity for innovation and creativity typical of young and dynamic companies. The staff is very kind, the packages offered are really interesting and fun (we had a cooking class, a visit to the cellar, a tasting and lunch). We recommend a visit with all our heart! The wines are spectacular. Stunning location just a stone's throw from Vasto and the splendid Punta Aderci.
